Why back-to-backs move prices

  • Rest decisions come late. Teams often sit starters on the second night, and the second-night report is due by 1 p.m. local. Most of the move happens right after it.
  • Minutes decide player markets. A starter who sits frees 30-plus minutes and his share of possessions; specific teammates gain. Their markets move more than the game price.
  • Travel counts. A team that played on the road yesterday and plays again tonight has less recovery than one that stayed home.
  • Check both sides. When both teams are on the second night, the rest edge largely cancels out.
