FAQ
How are these PGA power rankings made?
From Kalshi’s winner prices the morning each tournament starts. Every golfer’s price is compared with the rest of the field, across every event in the window, so a golfer priced at 10% against a major field rates higher than one priced at 10% in a weak fall field.
What does win % in an average field mean?
The chance the market would give a golfer to win a tournament with a typical field from the window. It puts every golfer on one scale, whichever events they played.
How is field strength worked out?
From what the market charged for the same golfers week to week. If the regulars all get cheaper at one event, that field was stronger. 100 is the strongest field in the window; majors usually sit at the top.
What are top 10s vs expected?
How many top-10 finishes a golfer had against the number Kalshi’s pre-tournament top-10 prices added up to. A positive number means he finished in the top 10 more often than the market priced.
When do the rankings update?
After each tournament settles, usually Sunday night or Monday. Recent events count more: an event’s weight halves every 8 tournaments.
Why is a LIV golfer missing or listed with few events?
LIV events aren’t in these markets, so LIV golfers only appear through the majors. The 12-month view needs 4 events, the 6-month view 3 and the 3-month view 2.
