common questions

Where do the prices come from?

Kalshi lists a ladder of markets for each NHL player: 1+, 2+ and 3+ goals, assists and points. We read them the day before the game, or on game morning when they open later. The 1+ price is his chance of a goal, an assist or a point.

What does “vs expected” mean?

The games he had one or more, minus the number his prices pointed to. A player priced at 40% to score in five games is expected to score in two; if he scored in four, he is +2.0.

How do I read the bars?

One bar per game, oldest to newest. Up when he had one, down when he didn’t. Taller means more of a surprise against the price: scoring at 15% is a tall bar, missing at 70% is a tall one the other way.

How far back does it go?

The last 60 days for the NHL. A player needs 3 priced games to appear, and past games fill in over the first few loads.

Is this a recommendation?

No. It shows how players did against Kalshi’s prices. Past results don’t predict the next game, and nothing here is advice.
