PrizePicks Review 2026 — CS2 and Soccer Pick'Em Honest Assessment

Game of Skill — Platform Review PrizePicks
Review (2026)

PrizePicks is the largest pick'em platform in the US by brand recognition and one of the most widely available. Here is an honest assessment of what it does well, where it falls short for CS2 and soccer specifically, and where it fits in your platform stack.

Reviewed March 2026 by Game of Skill
Game of Skill Verdict PrizePicks

A legitimate platform with strong traditional sports coverage and the widest name recognition in pick'em. For CS2 and soccer specifically it is not the primary recommendation. Underdog has more CS2 players per event and a better new user promo. Sleeper has better multiplier flexibility. PrizePicks is worth adding as a third platform for number shopping once Underdog and Sleeper are set up.

A quick overview of the platform for anyone who has not used it before.

PrizePicks is a pick'em platform founded in Atlanta in 2015. It is the most recognized pick'em brand in the US by advertising spend and user count, with over 20 million registered users and more than $650 million paid out to players. The core format is the same as other pick'em platforms: PrizePicks sets a projection for each player stat, you pick more or less, select two to six players, and win a multiplied payout if your picks are correct.

PrizePicks switched to a peer-to-peer Arena format for real-money contests in August 2025. In this format your entry is grouped with other entries of similar size and timing, and the top performers in each group earn the maximum payout. All entries also include a minimum guarantee payout, meaning a strong card that does not top its group still returns something. This is structurally different from the straight house pick'em format that Underdog and Sleeper use.

Coverage spans over 20 leagues including NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, MLS, soccer, and esports. For CS2 and soccer pick'em players the platform is functional but not the strongest option. The CS2 player count per event is lower than Underdog and the projection data tends to move more slowly than competing platforms on the same players. For a full CS2 platform comparison see the CS2 apps page.

The Arena format, Power Play, and Flex Play explained.

PrizePicks offers two entry types. Power Play requires every pick to be correct for the full payout. Flex Play allows one or two picks to miss on longer entries, paying out at a reduced rate rather than voiding the card entirely. A five-pick Flex Play that misses one pays 2x rather than the full 20x, but still returns something rather than losing the full entry.

The Arena format groups your entry with similar entries by size and timing. The top performers in each group earn the Max Payout. Every entry also carries a Minimum Guarantee — a smaller return for entries that hit but do not top their group. In practice this means you can make a strong card and still win something even if you are not the best performer in your pool. The minimum guarantee is a structural safety net that pure Power Play platforms do not offer.

Entry sizes run from two to six picks. Payouts scale with pick count. The minimum entry fee is $5. PrizePicks covers a broader range of sports and stat types than most competing platforms, including combo picks that combine two players into a single projection.

Honest assessment of where PrizePicks fits and who gets the most out of it.

PrizePicks is right for players who primarily follow traditional US sports and use CS2 or soccer as a secondary interest. Its NFL, NBA, MLB, and college sports coverage is the strongest in the pick'em market. If the majority of your entries are on basketball and football with occasional CS2 or soccer mixed in, PrizePicks is a natural primary platform.

PrizePicks is a useful number shopping tool for CS2 and soccer players who already use Underdog and Sleeper. Its projections are set independently and differ from the other two platforms regularly. Adding PrizePicks as a third reference before each slate gives you a broader view of where the consensus sits across the market.

PrizePicks is not the right primary platform for CS2-focused players. Underdog has more players propped per CS2 event, a better new user promo, and broader state coverage. Start with Underdog, add Sleeper, then consider PrizePicks as a third app once the first two are active.
